The King Cattle Story

Hayden King is an everyday Aussie bloke with a big love for farming. He’s a first-gen farmer making a go within the ag industry any way he can. Be it cattle trading, leasing & agistment, hay trading, rural real estate or any other promising venture, he’s keen to give it a crack, and bring as many others along for the ride. Along with his wife, Meg & their 4 kids, they live on their home property ‘Nearaway’ at Kingsthorpe in SE QLD whilst also running cattle on lease and agistment blocks scattered throughout QLD.

Cattle Trading has always been a big part of what Hayden does, beginning 11 years ago as a small-time cattle trader & growing steadily to now intensively trade approx. 8000 hear per year, supplying anyone from hobby farmers, to large-scale backgrounding operators. Hayden has built a solid reputation as a trustworthy and reliable cattle trader, invested in sourcing and supplying the right cattle to the right people.

The ag industry can be a pretty hard one to break into & this is where Hayden has found a real need in passing on advice & facilitating hands-on experience with young people wanting to step into ag. He often hosts passionate young people on his home property, with the hope that he can help them see the everyday highs & lows of working in farming, and share some of the lessons he’s learned along the way.
